About the Author

Greg Ziegelbauer is the creator of Middle of Nowhere Goods and the author of several children's books, including the Red Dot series of high-contrast children’s books.

Living fully off-grid in the middle of nowhere, Greg designs simple, intentional tools that support independence, calm routines, and real-world learning. His work is shaped by a lifetime of hands-on problem solving, self-reliance, and the belief that the best systems are the ones that quietly do their job well. The items for sale on this store are items used in the off-grid setting he is living, as well as items that can be of help from camping trips and travel to being prepared for a disaster.

The Red Dot books were created to support early learning through clear visuals, minimal distraction, and gentle repetition. They are especially helpful for babies, toddlers, and children who benefit from high-contrast imagery, predictable structure, and calm visual environments—including children with sensory sensitivities or special needs.

When he isn't out working on the homestead, Greg is writing children's books. He loves making a positive impact on the learning of young minds.

All books are printed and fulfilled by Amazon to ensure consistent quality and reliable delivery. Middle of Nowhere Goods serves as the home for the ideas, philosophy, and future projects behind the work.

This store is part of a larger, long-term vision—one rooted in independence, craftsmanship, and building meaningful things that last.
